HOW IS A DOG'S AGE CALCULATED?

It is commonly believed that one dog year is equivalent to seven human years. However, this isn't quite true: vets have established a more accurate way of calculating a dog's age in human years. To calculate your dog's age in human years, consider the following:

1) If your dog is one year old, it is 15 years old in human years (not 7 as commonly believed).

2) When your dog tuns two, they are the equivalent of 24 years old (not 14).

3) After that add 4 years for every year after the second. For example, if your dog is three years old, they are 28 years old in human years; at four they are 32, at five 36, and so on.

4) Always take into account your dog's size, as smaller dogs normally live longer than large-size dogs. Miniature dogs are the breeds that live longer; the larger breeds live less. For example, following the method explained above, a small-size 6-year-old dog is 40 human years old, while a larger dog, is 42 years old.
